In 2005 Germany was having the very First International Sticker Awards, I was honored to be chosen by amongst numerous others artist submissions and only the best submissions were publish. It was an exciting time back then stickers were only made by the hardcore usually DIY style with nothing to look up to, and everything to gain. It was like the wild west and we were having fun. The sticker culture was not what is today. No fame involved back then but just love and passion for art. Now stickers have become an essential element of contemporary street art used by the most underground of artists. With stickers, anyone can plant their flag, gain notoriety, recognition and attain instant coverage while the action itself is inconspicuous. This book documents the best submissions from the first international sticker awards which have been established to record this constantly evolving movement.
